In their work Oil Production Company YUKOS consider one of their priorities the issue of effective nature management and reduction of environmental impact of industrial activities. Following completed UV projects at their oil production plants in the towns of Syzran, Samara, Achinsk, it was in March 2005, that the company put into operation a UV complex with a capacity of 250 000 m3/day to disinfect tertiary-treated waste water at its Oil and Chemical Production Plant (OCPP) in the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk oblast, Russia. The plant was the USSR’ largest plant in the industry. In 2001 it was taken over by Russian Oil Company YUKOS. The UV system is made up of vertical open channel modules manufactured by company LIT.
